MLS Fantasy is back, and there are double-game weeks galore! Keep in mind that both matches of the DGW will no longer count towards a player’s weekly score – only the highest score of the two matches will count towards your fantasy point total. With that being said, there are merits in loading up on DGW players since they have two chances to record a strong score. Let’s dive right in and take a look at the top fantasy options at each position this week.

Reto Ziegler celebrates a goal for FC Dallas | USA Today Sports Images
Reto Ziegler helped FC Dallas keep a clean sheet in their last match, and he’ll be relied upon for defensive coverage while they sort out their attack. He stands over a share of set pieces and is their primary penalty kick taker, giving him some attacking upside.

Will Nicolas Lodeiro be back celebrating with goals and assists? | USA Today Sports Images
Nicolas Lodeiro returned to action at the MLS is Back Tournament, and he'll receive some help with Joao Paulo back in training. He has two road games this week, but that might not be a disadvantage without fans in the stands. The Uruguayan attacker has historically been a player you don’t want to be caught without during a DGW.

Carlos Vela is back after missing the MLS is Back Tournament and he’s simply too much of a game-changer for LAFC to leave out. The 2019 Landon Donovan MLS MVP is fully capable of making an impact off the bench, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Vela back in the starting lineup piling up goals and assists per usual.
