FC Dallas Homegrown goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez has been named to Mexico’s U-20 national team World Cup roster.

The 19-year-old Gonzalez, signed by FCD in 2013, was Mexico’s first-choice ‘keeper during their championship run in the CONCACAF U-20 Championships earlier this year. He was key in a penalty-kick shootout victory in the title-game victory over Panama, in which he made two saves.

Gonzalez has yet to feature for Dallas’ first team, but he has been included in their game-day roster seven times. He is the second Dallas Homegrown goalkeeper to star for Mexico's youth teams after Richard Sanchez, who helped the U-17s to a 2011 World Cup title and is now with Tigres UANL in Liga MX.

Mexico kick off the World Cup in New Zealand on May 30 against Mali and will also face Uruguay (June 3) and Serbia (June 6) in Group D action.
