When it comes to scouting for speedy wingers from South America, nobody beats FC Dallas.
After All-Star Fabian Castillo, who is currently attracting interest from clubs outside MLS, the club saw Michael Barrios experience a breakout season in 2015 to emerge as one of the dominant flank players in the league.
Now a report in Diario Las Americas claims that 24-year-old Venezuelan international Yohandry Orozco could be next in the pipeline. Orozco signed a deal with German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg at the age of 19, but failed to break through and returned home to Deportivo Tachira. Most recently he was at Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, but that stay was also shortlived.
The article says that Orozco knows FC Dallas strength and conditioning coach Fabian Bazan, who served in the same role with the Venezuelan national team from 2008 to 2013. Orozco has 25 caps with Venezuela beginning with his debut in 2010.
But can he potentially turn into another Castillo or Barrios should FC Dallas land him? Just check out this YouTube highlight reel for the answer:
