New York City FC have some holes to fill for the 2016 season, and they may be looking abroad to find upgrades.
The club is interested in Portuguese defender Jorge Teixeira, according to a report from Empire of Soccer on Thursday. Teixeira, 29, is currently with Belgian side Standard Liege, where he was a teammate for a time with 2015 MLS Defender of the Year Laurent Ciman.
Teixeira began his club career in his native Portugal, before criss-crossing Europe in recent years, making stops in Cyprus, Israel, Switzerland and Italy before moving to Standard in 2014.
