Hours after reports surfaced that US youth international Will Packwood is leaving Birmingham City to join MLS, another English-based American is in the news for a potential return home.
Goal USA's Ives Galarcep reported on Wednesday that longtime West Ham midfielder and ex-US youth international Sebastian Lletget is set to sign with the LA Galaxy, who are looking to boost their options in the center of the park.
Lletget, 22, spent five years at West Ham, making the bench for a handful of English Premier League matches but never appearing in a league contest for the London-based club. The report stated that to sign Lletget, the Galaxy will send an undisclosed amount of allocation money to the New England Revolution, who reportedly hold a discovery claim on the Bay Area native. Lletget's contract at West Ham is currently set to expire in the summer.
A central attacking midfielder, Lletget has spent time with the US Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 national teams. He hasn’t suited up for the US on the international stage since 2012.
