TORONTO FC vs D.C. UNITED
BMO FIELD, Toronto
June 27, 2015 (WEEK 17, MLS Game #168)
5 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE)
A meeting between high flyers in the Eastern Conference is ahead when Toronto FC and D.C. United meet for the second time this season at BMO Field on Saturday afternoon. Toronto FC have won four matches in their last five games to move into fourth place in the conference, kicking off MLS Heineken Rivalry Week with a 3-1 win against Canadian foes Montréal Impact on Wednesday. United consolidated their hold atop the East and the MLS overall table, kicking off their road swing with 1-0 win at the Chicago Fire, also at midweek.
- The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Sebastian Giovinco scored goals on either side of halftime to lead Toronto FC back to a 2-1 victory, June 6 at RFK Stadium.
- United have won on five of their last seven trips to BMO Field, since 2010, after their 2-1 win in Toronto last July 5. That victory ended a two-game home winning streak for TFC in the series. TFC has come away with points on three of their last four trips to RFK Stadium.
- Chris Rolfe hit for multiple goals in a game for the seventh time in his MLS career – but the first time since coming to D.C. United during the 2014 season – after scoring both late goals in the 2-1 win against New England on Sunday afternoon at RFK Stadium.
