Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco voted MLS Player of the Week after two-assist performance

No goal? No problem! Atomic Ant takes MLS Player of the Week honors

Sebastian Giovinco appears to be outdoing himself on a weekly basis with Toronto FC, and his latest performance garnered league-wide plaudits.

The Designated Player was voted MLS Player of the Week for Week 13 by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) after setting up two goals and hitting the woodwork twice in a 3-1 win against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Giovinco set up Justin Morrow's 22nd-minute opener with a terrific cross that the defender scored via diving header. He then turned provider once more, with a nifty pass on Luke Moore's insurance tally in the 71st minute.

The Italian's performance in the match capped off another strong month, as he has been nominated for the Etihad Airways Player of the Month as well, scoring two goals (both winners) and adding three assists in May.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
