Jay Heaps has been a part of the New England Revolution organization for the better part of 14 years. Now he's apparently set to stick around for the foreseeable future.
According to a report from the Boston Globe, Heaps signed a contract extension to stay with the Revolution after last year's MLS Cup. The new contract is expected to keep him with the club through the 2017 season.
Heaps became the Revolution head coach prior to the 2012 season and has led the Revs to the playoffs in two of his three seasons, including a run to the 2014 MLS Cup. In his three seasons, New England have a record of 48-50-28.
Heaps joined the club as a player in 2001, amassing a total of 294 appearances in his nine seasons in New England.
Assistant coaches Remi Roy and Tom Soehn also agreed to multi-year extensions, according to the Globe.
