TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
The Montreal Impact are on the verge of adding defensive reinforcements, according to a report.
TVA Sports analyst Vincent Destouches reported at halftime of the network’s Houston Dynamo-Portland Timbers broadcast Saturday night, the Impact have reached a deal with Kampala Capital City Authority for Ugandan defender Mustafa Kizza. He would join the club when the Secondary Transfer Window opens August 12.
“It will be made official in the coming days, but he wouldn’t come to Montreal right away,” Le Journal de Montreal quoted Destouches as saying.
The left back made his international debut with the Cranes last June against Lesotho.
Jorge Corrales, who arrived in Montreal in a trade with Chicago Fire FC last August, has started as a left wingback and Finnish international Jukka Raitala has featured as the left back in a four-man backline this season.
