TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
The Mario Balotelli-to-MLS rumors are back.
In a report from Corriere dello Sport, the LA Galaxy (and Besiktas) are named as options for Balotelli, who is currently a free agent.
Balotelli, who just turned 30, was with Brescia in 2019/20 and had five goals over 19 Serie A appearances. The past few seasons, much like the rest of his career, has been up and down.
The Italian forward enjoyed a resurgence at Nice in 2016/17 with 15 goals in 23 appearances after failing to score more than one league goal at Liverpool and AC Milan the two seasons prior. He followed up his debut campaign in France with an even better encore, 18 goals in 28 appearances with Nice.
Balotelli's form prompted Marseille to acquire him, where he scored eight goals in 15 appearances in his lone season with the club before moving to Brescia ahead of last season.
The LA Galaxy have all three Designated Player slots taken up, a big hurdle in any potential move for Balotelli. Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, Cristian Pavon and Jonathan dos Santos are the club's three DPs.
