FC Dallas winger Fabian Castillo appears to have caught the eye of Club América.
According to a Friday report from ESPN.com.mx, the Mexican giants are in discussions to sign the 23-year-old Colombian winger. The report states that América are looking to add Castillo ahead of the 2016 Clausura season, and may be willing to pay a transfer fee of up to $7.5 million to bring him to Mexico City.
The winner of MLSsoccer.com’s 2015 24 Under 24 ranking, Castillo had nine goals and nine assists in 30 regular season games this year, helping the club finish the regular season as the Western Conference’s top seed.
He’ll no doubt play a major role for FCD in the Western Conference Championship series against the Portland Timbers, which will kick off on Sunday at Providence Park (7:30 pm ET; FS1 and FOX Deportes in the US, TSN5 in Canada).

“We’ve been approached by many teams regarding Castillo – and other players – but we are right now totally focused on the match coming up in Portland,” FCD technical director Fernando Clavijo told MLSsoccer.com.
“We’re not thinking about anything but winning this game on Sunday, then the [second leg] on the 29th, and then hopefully the one [MLS Cup] on Dec. 6.”
