Just days after announcing their first-ever signing, are Austin FC on the verge of a second?
The club, which will make its MLS debut in 2021, are reportedly being linked with Vincent Janssen, a 26-year-old Dutch forward who competes for Monterrey in Liga MX.
Janssen, who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur and Fenerbahce, arrived in Mexico last July in a $9.9 million transfer from Spurs.
He has 11 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions for Rayados, but has struggled to crack the regular starting XI in league play.
If Austin FC are able to wrangle Janssen, who has seven goals in 17 appearances for the Dutch national team, it won’t come cheaply with the reported release clause between $18-20 million.
