It's a matchup between two of the hottest teams out of the gate in 2020, as Sporting Kansas City take on Minnesota United in Group D play on July 12.

SKC and Minnesota each looked dominant through Weeks 1 and 2, with Sporting thumping the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 at BC Place before shredding the Houston Dynamo 4-0 at home in their next match. A pair of newcomers led the way, as Liga MX import Alan Pulido and midfielder Gadi Kinda each shined, with Peter Vermes' group looking like a flat-out scary attacking force.

The Loons, meanwhile, took a convincing 3-1 victory over the Portland Timbers at the always hostile Providence Park on March 1, before running all over the San Jose Earthquakes in a 5-2 road victory on March 7.

It was a small sample size to be sure, but both of these teams played some of the prettiest attacking soccer of the opening two games of the season, making this one of the most potentially entertaining and goal-filled matches in group play.
