Less than a month removed from departing Atlanta United via a reported $18 million transfer fee, Pity Martinez scored his first goal for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr FC and helped steer them to the AFC Champions League semifinals.
Martinez scored in the 13th minute of Al-Nassr’s 2-0 victory over Al-Ahli Saudi FC, collecting a central ball before dribbling past a defender and finishing with ease. They’ll now play either Iran-based Persepolis or Uzbek side Pakhtakor in the semifinals.

Before heading to Al-Nassr, the Argentine attacking midfielder had seven goals and 11 assists across 39 league games for Atlanta. He was brought into Atlanta to help replace Miguel Almiron after the Paraguayan midfielder joined Newcastle United on a record transfer fee, but Pity never quite lived up to the hype.
However, the Five Stripes made a profit on the transaction involving the Designated Player and 2018 South American Footballer of the Year, even if his production levels didn't match expectations. Martinez, 27, originally joined Atlanta two seasons ago from Argentine giants River Plate.
Since Martinez left, Atlanta have brought in midfielder Marcelino Moreno on a DP deal. Moreno played for Lanus, the same club for which Almiron played.
