The early-season pole sitter hits the road for the first time this season when FC Dallas travel to PPL Park to take on Philadelphia Union in a meeting of undefeated clubs on Viernes de Fútbol. FC Dallas is the only team with the maximum points from their first two matches, following their win against Sporting Kansas City last weekend. Union have two draws from their first two games, following a wild 3-3 result at Real Salt Lake last Saturday.
- FC Dallas are the only team in MLS with the maximum six points after the opening two matches, winning their second consecutive game at Toyota Stadium to start the new year with a 3-1 win against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday evening.
- FCD’s Blas Perez sits atop the MLS Golden Boot standings, tied with Seattle Sounders FC striker Clint Dempsey with three goals, after scoring twice in the win against SKC.
- Fernando Aristeguieta scored his first two goals in MLS and Union scored their first goals of the year, but they still finished with a second draw in as many matches in reaching a 3-3 result at Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
- Union have never defeated FC Dallas in seven all-time meetings. FCD has won three of the seven matches, with four draws, including a 2-1 win at Toyota Stadium in the only meeting a year ago. All three matches at PPL Park have ended in draws, including a 2-2 result in 2013, the last game in Chester.
