Union's Ayuk, Le Toux explain somersault goal celebration vs. NYCFC

Philadelphia Union midfielder Sebastien Le Toux

As far as goal-scoring celebrations go, few this year will top Eric Ayuk and Sebastien Le Toux's. At least in comedic value.

The Union defeated New York City FC, 2-1, on Saturday thanks to a late goal from Vincent Nogueira. That 92nd-minute tally sent the crowd at PPL Park into a frenzy, but the celebration that followed Philadelphia's opener in the first half was equally as enjoyable.

After Ayuk stabbed a close-range shot off of teammate Zach Pfeffer and into the back of the net in the 27th minute, the acrobatic Cameroonian celebrated what he thought was his goal but actually Pfeffer's by pulling off a series of impressive backflips. Unable to do the same but wanting to mimic Ayuk's acrobatic moves, an elated Le Toux decided to join in by doing a sumersault that looked more like a graceful tumble. Comedic gold.

The two Union players talked about their celebratory efforts on Monday (see the video above), and Le Toux has vowed to make improvements going forward. Watch out, Ayuk. Le Toux will be a master of the art in no time.
