The road to the 2015 US Open Cup final runs through KC and Philly.
U.S. Soccer confirmed the dates and locations for next month's Open Cup semifinal matches on Tuesday night. The Philadelphia Union will welcome the winner of this Wednesday's Chicago vs. Orlando quarterfinal to PPL Park on Tuesday, Aug. 11, while Sporting Kansas City will host Real Salt Lake at Sporting Park the following day, Aug. 12.
The Union booked their semifinal spot by defeating the New York Red Bulls 4-3 in a penalty-kick shootout after a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena on Tuesday afternoon, while Sporting KC advanced to their second Open Cup semifinal in four years with a 3-1 defeat of the Houston Dynamo later in the evening.
RSL defeated the LA Galaxy 1-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 14 to move on to the semis. Chicago host Orlando at Toyota Park on Wednesday night (8:30 pm ET, YouTube) in this year's final quarterfinal showdown.
