The New England Revolution are looking to cool off Toronto FC and extend an unbeaten streak to five games when they host the Reds Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium.
The Revs (5W-3L-7D) are coming off a disappointing 0-0 draw against Nashville SC Saturday night, while Toronto FC (9W-2L-4D) moved level on points with Supporters' Shield-leading Columbus with a 2-1 win over Philadelphia Saturday in East Hartford.
The teams met last at the MLS is Back Tournament, playing to a 0-0 draw in the group stage on July 21.
New England Revolution
The Revs statistical dominance, which included a 17-3 edge in shots, didn't translate to three points as Bruce Arena's squad were forced to settle for a share of the points in a 0-0 draw with expansion side Nashville at Gillette Saturday night.
"I think it’s a common denominator how teams play us in Gillette. They drop off. They play in a low block and they make it difficult," Arena said after the match. "And technically, we were not good enough tonight. Having said that, in the second half, there was some opportunities to get a goal and win the game and we failed to do that.”

Toronto FC
Ayo Akinola and Alejandro Pozuelo struck for second-half goals as Toronto FC rallied from a first-half deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Union in East Hartford Saturday night. The win might have come at a cost though as Jozy Altidore left the match in the second half with a hamstring injury. Fullback Justin Morrow (calf) also hobbled off.
"He continues to grow, you know?" Greg Vanney said of Akinola, who broke out at the MLS is Back Tournament before being sidelined with an injury of his own. "He continues to grow. He’s learning every day. He’s got a desire to score goals. On this team, if you have a desire to score goals and work hard in front of the goal, and commit yourself and get your timing right, with the quality of service and the passers we have on our team, you’re going to get chances."
