Teal Bunbury has signed a multi-year contract extension with the New England Revolution, the club announced Monday.

The 30-year-old forward is in his seventh season with New England, and now figures to stay for several more. His 35 goals in a Revs jersey, including one to kick off the 2020 season, currently place him at eighth on the club's all-time scoring list.

“I’ve had the pleasure to work with Teal Bunbury over the past year, and have found him to be an invaluable part of our team and organization,” Revolution sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena said in a team statement. “Teal’s contributions on the field speak for themselves and he has been an important part of our team’s re-building efforts. Off the field, Teal represents the Revolution in a first-class manner and we are honored that he will remain as a member of the Revolution.”

After starting the first two games of the 2020 season, Bunbury made a four-minute cameo as the Revolution won their MLS is Back Tournament opener against Montreal on Thursday. He and the Revs will next be in action on Friday against D.C. United (8 pm ET | ESPN, TSN).

In total, Bunbury has featured in 272 regular-season games (185 starts), with 54 goals and 27 assists, while playing first for Kansas City and since 2014 for New England. He has also featured in 12 MLS Cup Playoffs matches, and had two goals and two assists across five starts in the Revolution's run to the MLS Cup final in 2014.

The son of former Canadian international Alex Bunbury, Teal opted to represent the United States on the international level, and featured for the USMNT four times between 2010 and 2012, scoring one goal.
