"This is always a very difficult place to play. It was a hard-fought draw. I tell you the real winner today is the city of Portland. Every time we come here it gets harder to leave. I bet you guys put something in the water."
That was Sporting KC defender Matt Besler after Wednesday night's scoreless draw at Portland, and it seems like a lovely sentiment (though we all know it's the donuts that make it hard to leave Portland).
It turns out, though, that Besler was just having a little fun working a film reference into his post-game presser. As first spotted on /r/MLS, those words aren't Besler's: They're Shooter McGavin's, the antagonist from Adam Sandler's 1996 film "Happy Gilmore."
Here's the clip:
Big question now is what Besler eats for breakfast.
