Nashville issue statement after court ruling on new stadium

Nashville SC are cleared to proceed with construction of their new stadium after following a court ruling in which the judge dismissed a lawsuit that was seeking to halt construction of the venue at The Fairgrounds Nashville.

"[T]he Court concludes that the Plaintiffs have not proven that the construction and operation of the Development on the Fairgrounds Nashville Property is ultra vires, a breach of fiduciary duty or violates the Metro Charter," Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle wrote in her opinion. "The evidence showed that there is no intent or design of Metro or the Intervening Defendants to destroy or eliminate the Existing Uses."

The stadium is currently scheduled to open in 2022. Nashville SC currently play their home games at Nissan Stadium, which they share with the NFL's Tennessee Titans.

Following the ruling, Nashville SC released a statement which can be read below.
