They haven't beaten the New York Red Bulls on the field just yet, but New York City FC's fans captured another kind of victory for their club, outvoting RBNY supporters for the right to have the Empire State Building lit up in their club's colors.
Microsoft Windows gave the opportunity for New York fans to show their allegiances by voting for their preferred club online and via social media and NYCFC faithful came out on top.
Beginning at 8:30 pm ET, the Empire State's world-famous tower lights were lit up in NYCFC blue on Saturday evening, the night before the club hosts the Red Bulls in the second installment of the Big Apple's crosstown rivalry at Yankee Stadium on Sunday (4:30 pm ET, ESPN and ESPN Deportes).
