A pair of MLS regulars will be missing their upcoming matches after sanctions were handed down by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.
D.C. United forward Chris Rolfe was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount "for violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent" against the Philadelphia Union last Saturday. In the 62nd minute Rolfe is seen kicking out at Philadelphia's Vincent Nogueira after the Frenchman committed a foul (WATCH THE VIDEO HERE). Rolfe will miss Wednesday's match against his former club, the Chicago Fire (7 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
Seattle Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso was also suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount "for violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent." In the 83rd minute against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, Alonso was called for a foul after delivering a late kick to Red Bulls midfielder Felipe Martins, but he was not issued a card by the match referee (WATCH THE VIDEO HERE).
Alonso will not be available for Seattle when the Sounders visit Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night (8:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
