Dramatic goals are part and parcel of any rivalry's history, and in that category the Texas Derby more than lives up to the billing.
One of the most memorable goals in this particular rivalry came in 2011, the season after Dallas had made a run to MLS Cup. After a 2-2 draw in Houston earlier in the year, the fate of El Capitan hung in the balance on a warm September day, with the two teams locked in a scoreless game and the clock winding down.
Enter Geoff Cameron.
The Dynamo man – who now plays for Stoke City in the English Premier League – got himself open in front of the goal to nod in an 87th-minute corner that saw his team clinch the rivalry trophy on Dallas' home turf and start them on a run that ended with an appearance in the 2011 MLS Cup final:
