TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Roster Update
The LA Galaxy have mutually agreed to part ways with midfielder Aleksandar Katai, the club announced Friday.
It comes on the heels of what the club called “a series of racist and violent posts by Tea Katai, the wife of LA Galaxy midfielder Aleksandar Katai,” in a statement issued Wednesday.
According to that statement, the Galaxy were planning on meeting with Katai Thursday to “determine next steps."
Katai, who was signed as a free agent by the Galaxy in December 2019 after two MLS seasons with the Chicago Fire FC, apologized for the posts on Instagram, calling them a "mistake from my family.”
