Kaká praises Orlando City for new identity: "Everything seems easy right now"

Kaka interview on Banter - August 6, 2020

Former Orlando City SC star Kaká is liking what he sees so far from the Lions at the MLS is Back Tournament and he was watching when they beat Minnesota United 3-1 in their semifinal match on Thursday night.

"I tried to watch the whole tournament, so most of the games, of course, were Orlando's games," Kaká told Taylor Twellman on the latest edition of Banter (watch video below) prior to the match. "But I also watched a few other games."

"And for me Orlando is playing very good. Very solid game. We can see this identity on the field. Players are playing very, very good. Sharp. So everything seems easy for Orlando right now. So the results are just a consequence of what the guys are doing on the field."

When Orlando face Minnesota, Kaká will be seeing his former coach on the opposition sideline as Adrian Heath gets set to face his ex-club. Heath coached Kaká and Orlando City for 50 regular season matches during the 2015 and 2016 season before he was let go on July 6, 2016.

"It will be nice to see that -- to see Minnesota with Adrian playing Orlando again," Kaka said. "Adrian was a really good coach for me the year that we had together in Orlando. He's a very English coach -- he's very tactical. He looks to be organized with the team. And so for sure it will be a really tough game for Orlando, but of course I hope Orlando is going to win."

He also had some words for Portuguese star Nani, who has taken over the Orlando captain's armband that once belonged to Kaka.

"I love Nani," Kaká said. "I think he's very good, very talented. And he's the type of player that can find a solution in any moment of the game. So I love players like that, but of course he's not playing by himself. The team works very, very well in this moment. So it makes things easy for Nani to be in the right spot waiting for the right ball to be as decisive as he can be."
