The Colorado state flag theme has proven a popular one for Rapids supporters dating back two seasons ago, when it was first introduced.
It's back with a twist in 2015.
The Colorado Rapids
on Thursday released new gold away shirts
once again inspired by the colors and designs on the state flag, which appears in its entirety as a jock tag on the lower left corner of the shirt. Just like that flag, there's an embossed "C" and a bar across the chest.
On the back of the jersey is the number "5280," or the total feet in a mile, meant to represent Denver's nickname as the "Mile High City."

There's also a "Founding Team" patch on the inside of the jersey underneath the team badge, which kit manufacturer adidas has added to the new releases of the nine charter MLS clubs in the league.
The Rapids will make it a point to wear the away shirt at every single one of the 17 regular season road matches of the season, beginning with the opener on Saturday, March 7 in Philadelphia (4 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
