Inter Miami have acquired winger Lewis Morgan from Scottish giants Celtic for an undisclosed fee, the club announced Friday.
Morgan, 23, joined Celtic in 2018 and made 31 appearances for the club over the last two years. The winger made five league appearances this year and also spent time on loan with Sunderland last year in England's League One, where he had a goal and four assists across 17 appearances.
He has two caps with the Scotland national team.
“Lewis is an exciting player that will contribute to our attack,” sporting director Paul McDonough said in a club statement. “He is a pacey and dynamic player who operates well in space. He has shown his quality in Scotland and in England and we’re happy to acquire him."
Morgan's career began with St. Mirren in Scotland, making 118 appearances with the club. He had 14 goals and nine assists in his final season with Saint Mirren.
The player joins Miami's expanding attack, alongside young Designated Player Matias Pellegrini, Julian Carranza, Juan Agudelo, Jerome Kiesewetter and No. 1 SuperDraft selection Robbie Robinson. The club also are looking to add at least one DP to that group.
