Major League Soccer is known as a physical league, and Orlando City SC have just acquired a player that will be one of the most imposing figures in the game next season.
On Monday, OCSC acquired Brazilian center back Gustavo. Nicknamed "Geladeira" in Brazilian, which translates into "The Refrigerator," Gustavo is a veteran of the Brazilian leagues and has featured in over 80 matches in his seven year career. This includes a three year stint with five-time Brazilian Champion and Intercontinental Champions, Flamengo.
The Brazilian will be in the rotation on the backline along with Aurelien Collin, Tyler Turner, Tommy Redding, Rafael Ramos, and Luke Boden.
“We’re very pleased that Gustavo has joined the club,” said head coach Adrian Heath. “He’s a tough and willing defender who we believe will be a fantastic complement to our existing core.”
