Fabian Castillo has torn up MLS with FC Dallas this season – now the All-Star is being rewarded with a call-up to the Colombian national team.
FC Dallas announced on Friday night that the 23-year-old Castillo has been called to the Colombia squad for their Sept. 8 friendly at Red Bull Arena. Castillo is one of 23 players named to the roster for the match by Colombia head coach Jose Pekerman, joining star attacker James Rodriguez of Real Madrid and players from Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid.
Castillo leads FC Dallas with eight goals and six assists in 23 games played. The Cali, Colombia native joined FCD in March 2011 at 18 years of age. He has 28 goals and 22 assists in 130 regular season games in four-and-a-half years in Dallas.
