D.C. UNITED vs NEW YORK CITY FC
RFK MEMORIAL STADIUM, Washington, D.C.
October 2, 2015 (WEEK 31, MLS Game #307)
7 p.m. ET (UniMás; UDN)

A massive match in the Eastern Conference playoff picture is set for Viernés de Fútbol as D.C. United entertain New York City FC at RFK Stadium. United are still just a win away from securing their place in the 2015 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, their league winless streak now at six games following a 2-0 loss at the Montréal Impact last weekend. NYCFC are still alive in the hunt for a playoff berth in their inaugural season, winning a third game in a row last weekend with a dramatic 2-1 win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place.

  • D.C. United had their winless streak extended to six games – the club’s longest since their club-record 15-game stretch without a victory over the end of the 2013 season and the start of 2014 – in their 2-0 loss at the Montréal Impact on Saturday evening.
  • New York City FC matched the club’s longest winning streak in its inaugural season in the 2-1 win at Vancouver Whitecaps FC, their third consecutive victory.
  • David Villa scored a goal for a second consecutive game – now with 17 goals in his first MLS season – while Frank Lampard scored his second goal in the last three matches in the NYCFC win in Vancouver.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time ever, the first at RFK Stadium. David Villa, Thomas McNamara and Kwadwo Poku each scored one goal and assisted on another as NYCFC rolled to a 3-1 win Aug. 13 at Yankee Stadium.
