Major League Soccer announced on Saturday that Commissioner Don Garber has selected New York Red Bulls midfielder Dax McCarty to replace injured New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard on the roster for Wednesday's 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game (9 pm ET on FOX Sports 1, UniMás, TSN and RDS)

A 10-year veteran of MLS, McCarty earns his first ever All-Star selection. The New York Red Bulls captain has featured in over 100 matches for the Red Bulls and is currently the club’s longest tenured player. McCarty played a critical role in helping the Red Bulls capture their first ever trophy when they won the Supporters’ Shield in 2013, and has continued to be an anchor in the midfield as the Red Bulls are poised to make their sixth-straight appearance in the MLS Playoffs.

Lampard, along with LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard, was selected as a Commissioner's Pick, but has yet to make his NYCFC debut after picking up a calf strain in training prior to his expected July 12 debut.

McCarty will join 21 other players selected by the fans, the Commissioner and All-Star head coach Pablo Mastroeni on the gameday roster, while 12 more inactive All-Stars will be name in the coming days.
