D.C. United may have been busy adjusting their draft chart in recent days, but it wasn't the only thing they were working on.
On Monday morning D.C. announced the signing of Finnish international Markus Halsti from Swedish club Malmo FF. Halsti, 30, can play both in the midfield and backline and joins D.C. United after helping Malmo win three league championships in the past five seasons. He also has previous experience playing in the UEFA Champions League.

"We are pleased to be adding a player with solid European playing experience at the club, Champions League, and national team levels,” D.C. United general manager Dave Kasper said in a state. “Markus can play as both a central midfielder and central defender, and this was quite attractive to us. He is a tough competitor and another very good character piece for our club. We look forward to having him join our family.”
The 6-foot-1 Halsti started 21 of the 26 games he played for Malmo in 2014. On the international stage, he's made 20 appearances since debuting for Finland back in 2008.
D.C. United are currently in South Florida at the annual MLS Player Combine in preparation for this Thursday's MLS SuperDraft.
