It was a short ride for Zat Knight in Colorado.
After just four games with the Rapids, Knight has left the club by mutual consent.
The former England international central defender arrived in Commerce City last October and made his debut as a second-half substitute in the 4-1 defeat at home to Seattle. He then played full games in the final fixtures of the season against Chivas USA, FC Dallas and Vancouver Whitecaps.
"We would like to thank Zat for his services to the club,” said Rapids vice president of soccer operations and technical director Paul Bravo in a statement. "He arrived at a difficult time last season and provided valuable experience as well as leadership.

"We have decided to remodel our defense this season and, to achieve that, have signed important players across the backline and in goal. In the circumstances, both sides decided to part ways. But we would like to wish Zat all the best for the future.”
