Orlando City Designated Player Kaká wasted little time making an impression in his first action with the club on Wednesday, setting up one goal and converting a penalty kick as a very strong Lions lineup jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead on FC Dallas, which started a more makeshift lineup, and cruised to a 4-0 win.
Wearing the captain's armband, Kaká's first MLS goal, albeit a preseason one, came in the 33rd minute. Northern Ireland international Martin Paterson was taken down in the penalty area, and Kaká fired the resulting penalty kick past FC Dallas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.
Kaká also played a major role in the second Orlando goal, as Paterson converted the rebound of his own shot after 2014 USL PRO MVP Kevin Molino and Kaká combined to set him up. Winger Tony Cascio opened the scoring for Orlando City with a solo run in the 13th minute, and Danny Mwanga wrapped things up in the 64th minute after forcing a defensive turnover.
Orlando City began their preseason slate with a 1-1 tie against D.C. United last Friday night.
